Minaj is monarchy and cartoon all wrapped up in one.
kicked off last night’s ceremony, which took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with “S&M”, and she was looking schmokin’ as always. She was joined on the stage by Britney Spears and the two of them ended the number with a pillow fight.
The awards were hosted by Ken Jeong (“Hangover”, “Knocked Up”, “Pineapple Express”). He was pretty damn hilarious (especially his opening number with Nicki Minaj & Pat Monahan).
The evening saw
awarded with the Millenium Award. Deservedly so.
SHE KILLED IT.
Justin Bieber won ‘Digital Artist of the Year’ and ‘Top New Artist’. Well done to the kid, he keeps on reeling in those awards!. Taio Cruz walked away with the Top Hot 100 Award. ZOOP. Representing the UK. I’m glad he’s doing well because he’s super-talented both as a singer and a songwriter.
Lady Antebellum won the ‘Country Song of the Year’ and Cee Lo Green performed a medley of his hits on a revolving piano!
It’s good to have the Billboard Awards back!
The white carpet
dropped her new video for “Super Bass” a few hours ago. The clip is simple, but colourful and sees the rapper/singer in a number of looks, ranging from her now trademark pink wig to a Daisy Duke-inspired outfit.
The pool set-up reminds me of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls”.
There is NO denying that she looks MEGA FLY in the video. DAYUM.

Nicki on being a rapper: “I always wanted to play with the boys. I didn’t want to be a pawn in their game or have a sidekick role. I wanted to be more of a lead character – a superhero.”
Yesterday it was announced that Universal Music will be releasing a digital-only compilation album to raise awareness and funds for those affected by the 9.0-magnitude earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan.
Although the lineup and track list is yet to be finalized, some of music’s biggest names, including Rihanna, Justin Bieber, U2 & Nicki Minaj, are lending their tunes for a good cause. Proceeds from the sales will go to the Japanese Red Cross.
“We are doing it only digitally because it is faster, and this will be a worldwide release. The plan is to have it available later this week,” a spokesperson for Universal Music said.
Universal Music is not the only music-industry player reaching to support the Japan disaster relief. The Black Eyed Peas’ new music video for their song “Just Can’t Get Enough” is being used to promote awareness and funds for victims of the tragic event. The video, which was shot in Japan one week prior to the earthquake and tsunami, finds the BEP bandmates traveling throughout Toyko.
AND Lady Gaga designed a special prayer bracelet with all proceeds going to the Japanese relief efforts. In just two days, Gaga & her legion of little monsters had raised more than $250,000.
