Scouts Shouts #13

Today = the thirteenth issue of SCOUTS SHOUTS, where I blog about my favourite song of the week, my album of the week, film of the week…you get the idea. Be sure to check back every Thursday to see what’s hot that week.

Album of the week

Nelly Furtado’s LOOSE is probably one of my favourite albums. Ms Furtado had been rather quiet on the music scene for a while, but secretly she had been creating magic with the likes of Timbaland, Keri Hilson & Justin Timberlake and well, we all know what the product was. The album is packed full of tunes; “Promiscuous Girl”, “Maneater”, “No Hay Iqual”, “Say It Right” and of course “All Good Things Come To An End”. I find myself listening to it and the songs are still jams, so it’s only right that this week we celebrate the beautiful Nelly Furtado.

Song of the week

This week’s song is the perfect example of a piece of music which just conjures up the most insane and interesting images in my mind.

THIS SONG IS INCREDIBLE. WONDERFUL. INSPIRING.

Crush of the week

I really am appreciating Ms Furtado this week = she is also my crush this Thursday…Photos by Max Abadian, from Elle magazine.

Film of the week

Last weekend I saw RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES and I thought it was fantastic. The graphics were exceptional, the script emotive and the reboot of the series was quite frankly, spot on. They’ve managed to bring the story into the modern day effortlessly and have most definitely succeeded in putting a great spin on a tale we know very well. The original 1968 film is a classic, there’s no doubt about it, but this film got me extremely excited for the prospect of a whole new series of ‘Apes-films’. Here’s to a sequel and if you haven’t seen it, it’s worth a watch on the big screen!

Male model of the week

Josh Kloss

Josh Kloss may look familiar to some of you and that’s because he was the male lead in Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” music video and he also appeared alongside Kim Kardashian in her recent Skechers ad. There’s no denying that he is one HANDSOME man. Trimspiration. *Note to self, got to hit the gym tomorrow. Hard!* Anyway, don’t be surprised if you see him in films sometime in the near future.

Kloss on Katy Perry and acting: “I was surprised by her acting chops. I think she’s a great artist, and the entire set was filled with magic. It was a lot of fun.” On the big screen, Kloss says he looks up to Daniel Day-Lewis, Brad Pitt and a young John Travolta. “I like the intensity that they’ve brought to the screen. Reminds me of James Dean’s influence.”
