Today marks the first ever SCOUTS SHOUTS, where I’ll blog about my favourite song of the week, my album of the week, film of the week…you get the idea. Be sure to check back every Thursday to see what’s hot that week.
Album of the week
Fleet Foxes – Helplessness Blues
I’ve come to the recent conclusion that the Fleet Foxes are my favourite band at the moment. I just love their sound. Their harmonies are divine and the pictures I paint in my head when I hear their music are so vivid, wild, fantastical… Their new album is so organic. It manages to have a richness and complexity about it, whilst simulatenously maintaining a somewhat bare and simple feel to it. The songs are easy on the ears but are also deep and it’s a beautiful progression from their first album, without being too much of a departure from the sound we fell in love with first time round. The tracks I’m feeling at the moment = ‘The Plains/Bitter Dancer’, ‘The Cascades’ and ‘Grown Ocean’.
Baroque Pop. Folk. Rock.
Song of the week
It’s an old one, but still such a tune and it popped up on my shuffle the other day.

Film of the week
THE INFORMERS is a film set in early-80s LA starring Billy Bob Thornton, Mickey Rourke, Kim Basinger, Jon Foster, Austin Nichols and my crush of the week Amber Heard. Whilst it may not have done well critically or commercially, I really enjoyed it, (maybe more so because of Ms Heard). It was not nearly as bad as I expected it to be.
Female model of the week
